An Apostille certifies:
An Apostille is a certificate that authenticates the signature of a public official on a document for use in another country.
It authenticates of the signature of the public official who signed the document. And it shows the capacity in which that public official acted, and when appropriate, the identity of the seal or stamp which the document bears, e.g. a notary public seal.

Fees to the Secretary of State
You need to pay the fees to the Secretary of State separately, in addition to the fee we charge. The payment must be made by check or money order payable to the Secretary of State.
The state charges fees for various services, including the certification of documents that require an Apostille. For each such document, the fee is $20.
Additionally, there is a flat processing fee of $6.00, which applies regardless of the number of documents you submit.
Example of Fees

If you need to Apostille three documents, the fees would be $60.00, which is the total of three fees of $20 each, plus a handling fee of $6.00.
Therefore, the Secretary of State fees (S.O.S.) for processing the three documents would be $66.00
in total.
